Buy IGF 1 LR3 Australia stock online from NovaPep as a 1 mg research vial of Long R3 IGF-1, tested on every lot. IGF-1 LR3, or Long R3 IGF-1, is an 83 amino acid analogue built on human insulin-like growth factor 1, with a 13 residue N-terminal extension added and arginine swapped in for glutamic acid at position 3. Those two edits let it slip past most IGF binding proteins so that the IGF-1 receptor stays engaged in culture. Identity details are C400H625N111O115S9, 9117.6 g/mol and CAS 946870-92-4. Every batch is confirmed by mass spectrometry and measured by HPLC, and you can read the certificate in the COA library before you pay. Use the peptide calculator to set up a stock solution at whatever volume you choose. To compare a downstream receptor agonist with an upstream secretagogue, add the CJC-1295 ipamorelin blend to the same cart. The powder ships with no diluent, so include 0.6% acetic acid or bacteriostatic water. Store it sealed at -20 °C. This is a research reagent for cell culture and in vitro work, sold only to adults aged 18 and over.

For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use. Not TGA approved. See the NovaPep research use policy.

What Is IGF-1 LR3?

IGF-1 LR3 is a lengthened, engineered form of insulin-like growth factor 1, the hormone responsible for much of what growth hormone does in tissue. It has been modified so that the natural binding proteins can hardly hold it. More of it therefore remains unbound, and that is why it is more active in cell culture than the native hormone at an equal concentration. You can order IGF-1 LR3 online in Australia as a 1 mg research vial, and every lot ships with its own certificate.

Where Long R3 IGF-1 comes from

Long R3 IGF-1 was developed in Adelaide in the early 1990s by the same research group that had already described des(1-3) IGF-1. The goal was a growth factor that was simpler to manufacture and steadier in use, and it went on to become a routine supplement for serum-free media, especially for Chinese hamster ovary cells in bioproduction.

What arrives is a small vial holding 1 mg of Long R3 IGF-1 as a white freeze-dried film or pellet that is easy to miss, with no buffer or carrier protein added by us. Of all the compounds in our growth hormone range, this is the one with a truly Australian commercial history. Apart from the Adelaide research mentioned above, GroPep Limited in Adelaide manufactured the protein as a raw material for cell culture, and a distribution agreement from 2000 took it into industrial bioprocessing supply around the world.

Inside the 83 residue construct

The construct is built from three parts, starting with the 13 residue extension Met-Phe-Pro-Ala-Met-Pro-Leu-Ser-Ser-Leu-Phe-Val-Asn, followed by the 70 residues of human IGF-1 carrying arginine at position 3. A measured mass near 9.1 kDa, compared with roughly 7.6 kDa for native IGF-1, is the first indication that the vial contains the long analogue and not the natural hormone.

How IGF-1 LR3 Works at the Receptor

The normal role of IGF-1

Native IGF-1 is a compact protein of 70 amino acids held in shape by three disulfide bridges, giving it a fold closely resembling proinsulin. Most of the circulating pool comes from the liver in response to growth hormone, although plenty of tissues make their own. Its target is the IGF-1 receptor, a tyrosine kinase spanning the cell membrane as a paired unit. Once IGF-1 binds, the receptor phosphorylates itself and draws in adaptor proteins, which starts two major cascades. One is PI3K and Akt, supporting cell survival and protein synthesis via mTOR. The other is Ras and MAPK, which drives cell division.

Yet in blood and in culture almost no IGF-1 is free. It is trapped by six binding proteins, IGFBP-1 through IGFBP-6, which lengthen its life in circulation and control when it reaches a receptor. A lot of cultured cell lines release these binding proteins into their own medium, where they quietly absorb any IGF-1 added.

How the longer analogue avoids capture

Two changes are responsible. Replacing glutamic acid with arginine at position 3 disrupts one of the surfaces that the binding proteins hold, and the 13 residue leader at the N-terminus adds more interference. The core is still recognised by the receptor, so signalling goes ahead without the normal interception. Francis and colleagues compared fusion analogues of this type in 1992 and concluded that reduced capture by binding proteins, not stronger receptor binding, explained the extra potency seen in cell assays.

That is the point most often misunderstood. The IGF-1 LR3 peptide is not a more powerful receptor agonist than IGF-1, only a harder one to intercept. In a serum-free system with cells producing few binding proteins, the difference between long R3 IGF-1 and the native hormone shrinks a great deal. In serum-supplemented medium, or with cell lines that release lots of IGFBPs, it grows. We recommend including native IGF-1 next to the analogue in any experiment where binding protein levels could differ between conditions, because otherwise a change in IGFBP output can look like a change in receptor response. Our glossary of peptide research terms explains words like IGFBP and IGF-1R.

IGF-1 LR3 Research: What Studies Have Looked At

What makes it useful is how long it lasts. It binds the six IGF binding proteins only weakly, so more stays free to find the receptor, and it breaks down slowly in medium, meaning one addition can support a culture over several days. It is sold as a lab reagent rather than a therapy within our growth hormone and IGF peptide range. Labs planning similar studies can order IGF-1 LR3 online in Australia, with identity and purity confirmed on every lot.

Labs use this reagent to supplement serum-free cell culture media and to examine IGF-1 receptor signalling, cell proliferation and protein synthesis in vitro. It is not a medicine, holds no TGA approval and is supplied for laboratory work only, to buyers aged 18 and over.

Choose this analogue when a receptor or culture study needs IGF-1 signalling that lasts for days rather than dropping away as binding proteins soak it up. The 1 mg vial is stocked in Australia and every lot carries its own report.

Your certificate should agree with the CAS and formula in the table above and give an HPLC figure for the lot. It is filed in the certificate of analysis library, and our guide to reading a COA explains why measured mass counts as much as the purity result.

Handling and Storage of IGF-1 LR3

IGF analogue data sheets commonly dissolve the stock in dilute acid, and acetic acid 0.6% is the standard pick here, whereas bacteriostatic water for multi-draw use suits solutions sampled several times. Add diluent gently and swirl instead of shaking. One mL gives 1 mg/mL, equal to 1,000 micrograms per mL, and the peptide dilution calculator works out further dilution into working stock. Order IGF-1 LR3 online in Australia and it travels by tracked Australia Post from our local stock.

Store the unopened LR3 vial dry and dark at -20 °C. Adding a carrier protein such as 0.1% bovine serum albumin to the diluted stock reduces losses onto plastic. Once in solution, keep it at 2 to 8 °C for short spells, or freeze single-use aliquots for longer projects. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided, as they promote aggregation of the folded protein.

IGF-1 LR3 Compared With the CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin Blend

The two products sit at opposite ends of the growth hormone axis. The CJC-1295 and ipamorelin peptide blend, a 10 mg vial, works upstream at the pituitary to prompt growth hormone release, whereas LR3 bypasses those steps and acts straight on the receptor that IGF-1 usually reaches at the end. Choose according to which point in the axis your study looks at.

Use LR3 for receptor signalling and multi-day cell culture research. For studies of pituitary secretion a secretagogue makes more sense, and both can go in the same cart when a project covers the full axis.

Other Names for Long R3 IGF-1

Suppliers list this analogue as LR3 IGF-1, Long R3 IGF-I, Long Arg3 IGF-1 or just LR3. Older journals often use the roman numeral version, IGF-I. Every one of these names refers to the same 83 residue chain, registered as CAS 946870-92-4.

The receptor terms to know are IGF-1R, the insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor, which is a tyrosine kinase, and the IGFBPs, six binding proteins that usually keep native IGF-1 in reserve. Weak IGFBP affinity is what defines the long analogue.

There is a single fill, the 1 mg vial. Per milligram that seems costly next to 10 mg secretagogue vials, yet working concentrations here are nanograms per mL of medium, so one milligram (1,000 micrograms) goes into a large volume. Comparing cost per experiment gives a fairer picture. The fill stays small because this is a folded 83 residue protein carrying three disulfide bonds, which is much more difficult to produce than a short peptide.

A 1 mg pellet is so small the vial can seem empty, and the certificate confirms the contents. If you run several culture lines, order two or three vials together, and where stock permits they will share a lot so the whole project relies on one certificate. Checkout is restricted to adults aged 18 and over.

How the Poisons Standard treats IGF-1 LR3

That culture background has no bearing on how the Poisons Standard handles it. Reviewed against the June 2026 Poisons Standard in October 2026, insulin-like growth factor I is listed in Schedule 4 together with a wider entry, insulin-like growth factors except when separately specified, which takes in analogues like LR3. Both entries are flagged for Appendix D, clause 5, so holding it without authority is unlawful. Its approved cousin is mecasermin, a recombinant copy of native IGF-1, sold as Increlex and covered by a TGA product information document. No country has ever approved Long R3 IGF-1 itself as a medicine, so there is no ARTG medicine listing for it and no way to get it through a pharmacy.

In class S2 of WADA's 2026 Prohibited List, insulin-like growth factor 1 and its analogues are named among the growth factors that are banned at all times, and Sport Integrity Australia follows that same list.

For labs wanting to buy IGF 1 LR3 in Australia with documented identity, we offer a 1 mg vial held on Australian shelves for culture and in vitro research. It is sold only to adults 18 or older and must never be administered to a person or an animal. See our guide to storing peptides for fridge and freezer handling of sealed and reconstituted vials.

You do not need a store or pick-up point. Our online shop serves labs in all states from a single Australian stock, and orders paid before 3pm on a business day leave the same afternoon. Teams looking for peptides in Adelaide, the analogue's home city, order in exactly the same way, and progress appears on the order tracking page.

IGF-1 LR3 FAQ

What is IGF-1 LR3 and how does it work?

It is a lengthened form of IGF-1 with 83 residues and arginine at position 3. The changes cut its capture by the six IGF binding proteins, so more stays free to reach the IGF-1 receptor. It is not a stronger receptor agonist than native IGF-1, only harder to intercept.

How can I order IGF-1 LR3 online in Australia?

Put the 1 mg vial in your cart from this page and pay. It ships from Australian stock to all states and territories, leaving the same afternoon when payment comes through before 3pm on a business day. No diluent is included, so add 0.6% acetic acid or bacteriostatic water, and check the lot certificate beforehand.

Is a certificate of analysis supplied with Long R3 IGF-1?

Yes. Each lot is run by mass spectrometry and should come in near 9.1 kDa, which distinguishes the long analogue from native IGF-1 at around 7.6 kDa, and HPLC gives purity. The certificate carries the same lot number as your vial and sits in the COA library.

Should I pick Long R3 IGF-1 or the CJC-1295 and ipamorelin blend?

Pick LR3 if your study works straight at the IGF-1 receptor, such as multi-day cell culture. Pick the CJC-1295 and ipamorelin blend, a 10 mg vial, if the research is about growth hormone release from the pituitary, which sits higher up the same axis.

Which is the best peptide to stack with IGF 1 LR3 when ordering?

For comparisons across the axis, many labs add the CJC-1295 and ipamorelin blend to set pituitary secretagogues against direct receptor activation. For culture work the more practical add-on is 0.6% acetic acid as diluent. Every item is a research reagent sent from the same Australian stock with its own lot paperwork.

What is the IGF-1 LR3 dosage?

NovaPep publishes no dosage for IGF-1 LR3 in people or animals, since the 1 mg vial is a cell culture reagent. There is no approved dosage. IGF-1 LR3 has never been registered as a medicine. Questions about the dosage of IGF 1 LR3, dosing for IGF 1 LR3 or advice on dosing IGF 1 LR3 in a person are not something a research supplier answers. For culture work, the peptide calculator converts the vial into a stock concentration.
